Words of the week… Spring Edition

It’s officially Spring break!

Spring is finally here! The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and it’s the perfect time to do some spring cleaning and plan some fun activities for the kids during their spring break. Here are some tips on how to get started.

  1. Declutter and Deep Clean
Spring cleaning is all about getting rid of the old and making room for the new. Start by decluttering your home, one room at a time. Get rid of anything you no longer need or use and organize what’s left. Once you’ve decluttered, it’s time to deep clean. Don’t forget to consider getting some help for a couple of cleanings . There’s no need to commit with Have you tried Urban Company yet?

  2. Plan a Family Fun Day
Spring break is the perfect time to plan a family fun day. Take the kids to a park for a picnic, go on a hike, or visit a museum. You could also plan a day trip to a nearby town or city. Get everyone involved in planning the day and make sure to pack plenty of snacks and drinks. Sonesta Hotels is offering an amazing discount code from now until April 11th for Suite week. 3. Get Creative with DIY Projects
Spring break is the perfect time to get creative with some DIY projects. Set up a craft station in your home and let the kids get creative. You could also plan a DIY project that the whole family can work on together, such as painting a room or building a birdhouse. We will be enjoying some gardening in the yard.

  4. Plan a Staycation – Don’t forget to use code Suite W at one of the lovely Sonesta hotels for 20% off of your stay/ or staycation.
If you’re not able to take a trip during spring break, plan a staycation instead. Choose a few activities to do each day, such as going to the movies, visiting a local attraction, or having a game night at home. You could also plan a movie marathon and watch your favorite films together.

  5. Try New Recipes
Spring is a great time to try out some new recipes. Plan a family cooking day and let the kids help out in the kitchen. You could also plan a potluck with friends or family and ask everyone to bring their favorite dish.

Let’s not forget about the goodness in self-care from the inside out to add to the Spring cleaning. Life can sometimes feel monotonous and dull, especially when we get stuck in the same routines day in and day out. But adding a pop of color to our wardrobe and incorporating words of affirmation into our daily routine can help us find joy in the small moments of life.

Start small by adding a brightly colored scarf or a statement piece of jewelry to your outfit. You could also try wearing a bold lipstick or nail polish color. When we wear something that makes us feel good, it can lift our mood and give us a confidence boost.

Incorporating words of affirmation into our daily routine can also have a big impact on our mood and mindset. Start each day by looking in the mirror and saying something positive about yourself. It could be something as simple as “I am capable” or “I am loved.” Write down your favorite affirmations and keep them somewhere you can see them throughout the day, like on your bathroom mirror or on your computer screen, or try using our “When you think positive positive things will happen” Message “Planner” for your FREE download

When we focus on the positive aspects of ourselves and our lives, it can help us find joy in the small moments. Take time to appreciate the beauty around you, whether it’s the blooming flowers in your garden or the sound of birds chirping outside your window. When we take the time to appreciate the small things, it can help us feel more present and content in our daily lives.

Incorporating color and words of affirmation into your daily routine may seem like small things, but they can have a big impact on your mood and mindset. So, go ahead and add some color to your wardrobe and practice speaking kind words to yourself. You might be surprised at how much joy it can bring to your life.
