What to do when social media crashes

On October 4th Instagram and face book hit pause, the stock went down and everyone’s faces grew a dark stare.

What do we do when social media goes down? Well in this case it was only 2 platforms and the biggest texting communicator for many countries (What’s app). However it affected us all in some way or another.  Many people turned to other sources of social media’s communication such as twitter, tik tok, and pinterest while others stared at their phones every minute on the hour pulling their phones down to refresh and take a deep breath.  I think that the reason why so many people couldn’t move past the possibility of having these 2 major platforms shut down is because their livelihood depends on it.

If you are a content creator you are solely dependent on staying in touch with your audience in order to bring them all of your amazing talents along with brands and sponsorship(s) that you are sharing. If you are an avid phone watcher your day was definitely unlike any other normal day.  You had to watch other people pass by, focus on work without distractions, even stop planning your goals because you didn’t feel as if you had inspiration to live by.
